Ongoing Events

February 16 through May 13, 2007
Are kids ‘bugging’ you to get out? Well, then the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery’s exhibition—The Good, the Bad & the Bugly—is where you want to be. Developed in partnership with Extermital, this show examines, educates and explores the world of these sometimes annoying, yet also helpful little creatures with an amazing and imaginative collection of insects, arachnids, creepy critters and interactive elements such as the “Yellow Bug Road,” “To Swat or Not to Swat” and the “Bug’s Be Gone House.” Get a ‘bug's-eye-view,’ while learning about size and proportion differences between these unwanted and miniature creepy crawlers and seemingly enormous humans. “Bugs” also addresses the differences between good pests vs. bad pests and how to properly—AND humanely— rid them from your home.

February 3 through April 29, 2007
Through fluorescent protein-rich “glowing worms,” dazzling displays of colorful bacteria, mutant flies and goldfish, live chick embryos and microscopic curiosities, the Traits of Life exhibit examines a range of organisms and biological phenomena that can lay the groundwork for understanding basic biology and celebrate the wonder and mystery of “life” while revealing the inner workings that make it tick.
